Concept Life Sciences was delighted to host Jon Pearce, Member of Parliament for High Peak, at our headquarters in Chapel-en-le-Frith on Monday 7 April 2025.
As a member of the Science, Innovation and Technology Select Committee, Jon is passionate about the role science can play in the UK government’s growth plans and the value it brings nationally and internationally.
A tour of multiple laboratories covering discovery and development chemistry, ADMET and analytical was led by Chemistry Services Director, Dr Mark Betson. With over 100 scientists based at the High Peak facility, and work in progress to expand further, Jon acknowledged Concept Life Sciences as a significant employer in the local area:
“It’s encouraging to see so many highly qualified and trained scientists employed in the heart of my constituency. Their work in drug discovery and development extends across the globe leaving a lasting positive impact for many.”
CEO, Dr Ben Cliff, further outlined the company’s growth plans and how they support our mission to accelerate the development of life-changing therapies and products.
“I’d like to thank Jon for his visit and engaging so warmly with colleagues throughout. We’re an ambitious company that is growing and intent on presenting the very best of British scientific innovation and service.
Having elected representatives visit and see first-hand not only the opportunities but also the challenges we face is essential. I’ve extended an invitation for Jon to join us for the opening of our Centre of Excellence later in the year.”
